![]() ![]() Clipping is really for working with bitmap images - not vectors. You do not want to use clip to separate your image. Delete the original if it is no longer need and save your file as an svg. You can now click on each one and change the color to what you want it to be. That will leave you with all the different shapes that are in the image. You will have a solid black silhouette on the top so move it off to the side or delete it. Duplicate it for "safety" and then work with the duplicate. (See those gaps?) Here is a better way to get the colors: Start out with your B/W image. It is extremely difficult to get the fill color to go into the corners of the shapes. It looks like you used fill to color in some of the layers in your image. It is going to leave gaps wherever you see them in your Inkscape image. IMO, you aren't going to want your Cricut to cut the image as you designed it. So it does make it look different than Inkscape. I don't really see the distortion that you are referring to.I suspect that it looks different in Design Space than it does in Inkscape because Design Space puts a black outline where it is going to end up cutting the pieces. I figured out how to do it in inkscape thru object- clip using a square to hid what I want, but when I bring it up in design space it shows the whole pic. This paticular svg image I want cut in half with words in the middle. ![]() What is best, to layer the different colors in inkscape so they'll be separated for vinyl before xfer or let design space do it? Should I send the flattened file? Grouped vs ungrounded? Whats the best way for cricut design space to read it easily and organized so it knows to seperate the vinyl?Ĥ. ![]() What type of file should I be saving it as to xfer? Just. So in future if like to know what happened.Ģ. What am I doing wrong specifically w THIS file to make cricut design space distort it so? It doesn't look bad in this case, just different. Condensed? Missing things? See images below and here is my svg file. I'm having alot of difficulties getting my designs to do what I want, especially xfering svg files into design space after I am done with them in inkscape. ![]() Hi! New to both cricut design space and inkscape, but have had experience w other photoshop type tools so can do some things. ![]()
